Sociology
Sociology is the study of the relationships among individuals, societies and the world. Members of this field look at shared cultural beliefs and the roles that race, class, gender and ethnicity play with regard to privilege, inequality and crime. An AA-T in Sociology will allow you to enter into upper division work in sociology at a CSU. Many CSU campuses offer emphases within their sociology programs, including social service organizations, corrections, education and gerontology. A bachelor’s degree in sociology lends itself to work with groups of people in a variety of settings including education, publishing, corrections, human resources, social work and urban planning.
